Have You Called A Client Today?
|
It’s 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, and Tom Peters of In Search of Excellence fame undoubtedly would like to know if you called a client today. Peters has an excellent 1 minute 7 second audio clip I ran across today. You should listen to it as well.
He admonishes us to never get out of touch with customers (clients), which is easy to do. He warns about losing touch:
“Must not happen. Stop. Now. Call a customer – out of the blue. Ask: how can I help? How are we doing? Have we delivered on every promise… listen, listen, listen. Take notes, meticulously… Follow up on at least one little thing, fast, instantly…”
He concludes by saying that we all have customers (clients), so his admonition "applies to 100% of us.”
So, I’m about to make my call. How about you?

Security in a Virtual World: Cisco Virtual Security Gateway for Nexus 1000V

At VMworld yesterday, Ed Bugnion introduced our Cisco Virtual Security Gateway (VSG) for Nexus 1000V, which led to an avalanche of questions. There is only so much you can do 140 characters at a time, so I thought this might work a bit better. And, for those of you who weren’t at VMworld, here are answers to questions you didn’t even know you had.

So, a bit of context first…
Catalyst Named to Inc. 5000 List of Fastest-Growing Private Companies
|
DENVER—September 1, 2010—Catalyst Repository Systems, Inc., (www.catalystsecure.com), a pioneer in providing secure, hosted document repositories for e-discovery and other complex legal matters, has been named to the Inc. 5000 list, a ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S.
The Inc 5000, now in its 29th year, represents the most comprehensive survey available of America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs. Eighty-nine Denver-based companies were included on the list, representing almost $2.4 billion in revenues in 2009.
Catalyst was ranked among the top 20 fastest-growing private companies in Denver, reflecting its role in helping to drive the city’s positive economic and market growth. Within the software industry category, Catalyst was ranked 76th of all U.S. companies listed.
“It is an honor to be named to such a prestigious list of companies and to see such a strong showing in Denver’s economy in particular,” said John Tredennick, Catalyst’s founder and CEO. “Despite the continued recession, Catalyst has continued to grow, increasing revenues, hiring more staff and now opening new operations in Asia.”
Overall, Catalyst was ranked at 1,117, with a 269% three-year growth rate. As a provider of hosted e-discovery software for corporations, law firms and insurance companies, Catalyst is establishing its leadership in a fast-growing market and is well positioned for continued growth.
The 2010 Inc. 5000 serves as a unique illustration of the profound changes taking place in the U.S. economy. Despite the fact that most of this year’s measuring period of 2006-2009 took place during the latest recession, aggregate revenue among the companies on the list actually increased to $321.6 billion, up more than 50 percent from last year. This year’s Inc. 5000 companies employ a record 1.4 million people, up from one million on last year’s list.
“The leaders of the companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 have figured out how to grow their businesses during the longest recession since the Great Depression,” said Inc. president Bob LaPointe. “The 2010 Inc. 5000 showcases a particularly hardy group of entrepreneurs.”
